The Northwest Hydroelectric Association
(NWHA) provides a regional voice for the hydropower industry, representing
the needs of its membership since 1981. NWHA is dedicated to the
promotion of the region's waterpower as a clean, efficient energy while
protecting the fisheries and environmental quality which characterize our
Northwest region.
eureka software worked with NWHA to
redesign and enhance the NWHA web site. The site's new navigation structure
makes it easier to find relevant information and incorporates the latest
SharePoint© technology to enable greater
collaboration among NWHA members. |

eureka software designed and created the Pacific
Gas and Electric Company's (PG&E) McCloud-Pit Hydroelectric Project Relicensing
Public Sharepoint© Website. This is an information resource for parties interested in
the relicensing of PG&E's McCloud-Pit Hydroelectric Project. The site was
designed specifically to accommodate the long-term process of hydro
relicensing. PG&E has chosen the Integrated License Process (ILP). The
initial FERC license for the Project expires July 31, 2011.
eureka software designed the SharePoint© site to be easy to maintain by
PG&E
personnel. The site is expandable and has viable capabilities that
can be maintained throughout the length of the process. The site makes it
easy for PG&E to provide constantly updated information to the parties
interested and involved with the relicensing process.
eureka software prides itself on its technological
ingenuity and innovation in the development and integration of such a
demanding web site application.

eureka software designed and created the Nevada
Irrigation District’s (NID) Yuba-Bear Hydroelectric Project Relicensing
Public Sharepoint© Website. This is an information resource for parties interested in
the relicensing of NID’s Yuba-Bear Hydroelectric Project. The site was
designed specifically to accommodate the long-term process of hydro
relicensing. NID has chosen the Integrated License Process (ILP). The
initial FERC license for the Project expires April 30, 2013.
eureka software also developed an "in-house" website enabling NID to
use internet technology for collaboration and development of their
relicensing documents. The Sharepoint© site provides collaborators in the
licensing process a secured shared workspace and excellent document
management.
The site was designed to be easy to maintain by NID
personnel. The project includes substantial architecture, upscale design,
and database design and integration to facilitate management of a complex
relicensing process. The site is expandable and has viable capabilities that
can be maintained throughout the length of the process. In-house training
was provided for key personnel to be able to update and maintain the web
site and its data.
Database-driven active server pages provide NID with one
point of entry for meeting and correspondence data creating a long-term
record of participants, meeting dates, and correspondence between NID and
its stakeholders and the general public. This data is parsed throughout the
site to make it easy to maintain with less errors.
eureka software prides itself on its technological
ingenuity and innovation in the development and integration of such a
demanding web site application.

eureka software created two web
sites to facilitate PG&E's DeSabla-Centerville hydroelectric relicensing
process. One site allows public access to relicensing documents and the
other site allows access only to the designated relicensing team. Both sites
use Sharepoint Team Services technology to manage the process and the documents and
were customized specifically for the Desabla-Centerville relicensing
process.
Sharepoint Team Services technologies
provide document management, creation of lists such as contacts lists,
integration with Office 2003, a calendar, correspondence and meeting
summaries to facilitate communication and access to important information.
Eureka Software's expert knowledge of these technologies means we can design
and implement a Sharepoint solution to manage any process. It's not just for
hydro! |

eureka software designed and
created the Wells Project Relicensing web site for Douglas County PUD. The
site was designed specifically to accommodate the long-term process of hydro
relicensing sometimes taking up 7 years to complete. Douglas has chosen to
do an Integrated License Process (ILP). The Douglas PUD license
for the Wells Project will expire in 2011. It was also designed to be easy
to maintain by PUD personnel. The project included substantial architecture,
upscale design, and database design and integration to facilitate management
of a complex relicensing process. The site is expandable and has viable
capabilities that can be maintained throughout the length of the
process. In-house training was provided for key personnel to be able to
update and maintain the web site and its data.
Database-driven active server pages
provide Douglas PUD with one point of entry for meeting and correspondence data creating a
long-term record of participants, meeting dates, and correspondence
between Douglas PUD and its stakeholders and the general public. This data

Web surfers can now access Recreation, Power, Fish, Wildlife and Relicensing
information on the newly designed and reorganized web site. The site was
designed by eureka software to integrate into the current Tacoma Power web
site and to provide easier access to a complex amount of information. Each
main section is color-coded to help users know what section of the web site
they are viewing. There are multiple navigational elements built in to the
site to facilitate different users tastes to access various areas of the web
site. All areas of the web site can be accessed through the cascading side
menu which appears on every page so no user is ever lost. Breadcrumb links are
built into the colored title bars at the top of the pages so users can step
back a level without having to use the browser's back button.
Four hydroelectric projects are featured with information about recreation
facilities, reservoirs, wildlife, fisheries, and relicensing. An added feature
is the Find a Park database which allows users to check areas of interest and
retrieve a list of park facilities matching their selections.
As with any complex web project, excellent collaboration between client and
developer was the key to providing the best information and imagery for the
web site and to develop and organizational structure that nor only works on
the outside but functions well “under the hood”. Because of this the site went
live without a hitch and slipped right in to the existing Tacoma Power web
structure. |

Tacoma-Ames represents two of the oldest hydro generating facilities in the
nation. eureka software built a relicensing web site to organize
process and meeting information but also to emphasize the
time period and location of this project while designing and implementing a
structure for the two separate project areas of the Tacoma Project and the
Ames Project. Both sites are accessed from the same main page while each site
maintains information specific to its project. |

Upper American River Project Relicensing
SharePoint Document Services Intranet Portal
SharePoint Document Services Intranet
Portal created for Sacramento Municipal Utility District. This intranet site
component represents
eureka software's commitment to applying the latest technology for
knowledge management. The site is custom designed to dovetail into SMUD's
current document management practices. Included in the package were on-sight
training sessions and support materials. This component also dovetails into
the existing corporate intranet and provides a valuable document management
tool for managing the thousands of documents involved in the relicensing
process. |

Sacramento Municipal Utility
District's Upper American River Project Archival Library and
Correspondence Database
eureka software scanned and
organized thousands of archival documents and correspondence collected over a period
of 50 years from the UARP relicensing library. A database was created from
an Excel spreadsheet which was used to provide data to a searchable intranet site to
access the documents. The library is divided into a public and private
section using password controlled access to segregate private documents. The
library is available on SMUD's intranet and also on DVD. |
