Modify Web Parts

You can modify attributes of a Web Part by assigning values to its Web Part properties. All Web Parts share a set of common properties that allow you to specify attributes for the appearance, layout, and other additional information. A Web Part can also have custom properties that apply only to that Web Part.

To modify Web Part properties by using the tool pane

If you are in shared view

Click Modify Shared Page.
Point to Modify Shared Web Parts, select the Web Part you want to modify.

The list of properties that apply to the selected Web Part is displayed in the tool pane. These properties include all the common properties as well as any custom properties that the Web Part developer has defined for the Web Part.

If you are in personal view

Click Modify My Page.
Point to Modify My Web Parts, select the Web Part you want to modify.

The list of properties that apply to the selected Web Part is displayed in the tool pane. These properties include the common properties and custom properties that the Web Part developer has allowed a user to modify in the personal view.
