Add, edit, or delete form library columns

Depending on the form template and the way the form library is set up, form library columns may be able to display both data stored within the form and properties of the form. To modify columns that display data stored within the form itself, you may have to edit the form template in the program in which it was created.

On the top link bar, click Documents and Lists.
On the Documents and Lists page, under Document Libraries, click the name of the form library you want to open.
On the page that displays the form library, under Actions, click Modify settings and columns.
On the Customize page, in the Columns section, click Add a new column.
In the Name and Type section, in the Column name box, type a name for the column, and then select the type of information you want displayed in the column.
In the Optional Settings for Column section, specify the settings you want.
At the bottom of the page, click OK.

On the top link bar, click Documents and Lists.
On the Documents and Lists page, under Document Libraries, click the name of the form library you want to open.
On the page that displays the form library, under Actions, click Modify settings and columns.
On the Customize page, in the Columns section, click the name of the column you want to edit.
In the Name section, specify the settings you want.
In the Optional Settings for Column section, specify the settings you want.
At the bottom of the page, click OK.

On the top link bar, click Documents and Lists.
On the Documents and Lists page, under Document Libraries, click the name of the form library you want to open.
On the page that displays the form library, under Actions, click Modify settings and columns.
On the Customize page, in the Columns section, click the name of the column you want to delete.
At the bottom of the page, click Delete.
Note If you delete a column, all of the data stored in that column will be lost. If you want to hide the column without losing the data, see Show or hide form library columns.
