In general, if you are having persistent problems viewing a Web Part Page, display the Web Part Maintenance Page to reset, close, and delete problem Web Parts or remove personal changes that may be causing the problem. To open the Web Part Maintenance Page, open the document library that contains the Web Part Page, rest your mouse pointer on the title, click Edit Properties on the Edit menu, and then click Open Web Part Page in maintenance view.
I can't modify the Web Part Page template or Web Part zones after I create a
Web Part Page.
Using the browser, you cannot modify a template or zone after creating a Web Part Page. When you create a Web Part Page, choose the template carefully so you are using the best template for your needs. If you want to modify the template and zones, or create additional templates, use a Windows SharePoint Services-compatible HTML editor, such as Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003, that supports this functionality.
My Web Part titles are unexpectedly
changing.
Although Web Part titles are not required to be unique on a Web Part Page, they must have unique names if you want to connect two Web Parts that have the same name.
When you open a Web Part Page or switch between designing and browsing, a numbered suffix is added to each duplicate Web Part title in the following way: <title>, <title> (2), <title> (3), and so on. The same numbered suffix is added for Web Parts with no titles — for example, <untitled>, <untitled> (2), <untitled> (3), and so on. If you add or remove a Web Part, a Web Part title may also change after the Web Part Page is refreshed. For example, <title> (4) may become <title> (5), or <untitled> (4) may become <untitled> (5).
These title changes are temporary and do not affect the Title property of the Web Part. In general, it's good practice to add a title to a Web Part and to give it a descriptive name that will likely be unique.
